چکیده

Computer-assisted semen analysis (CASA) is an automated and objective method of evaluating structural (e.g. morphology) functional sperm parameters motility hyperactivation). Sperm hyperactivation essential for successful fertilization thus important aspect in determining the fertility potential a male. In current study, CASA was used standard comparison ability phosphate buffered saline (PBS), BO wash (10 mM caffeine), 4% lignocaine, 5 procaine hydrochloride to induce Tankwa goat spermatozoa. Twenty-nine ejaculates were collected from randomly selected male goats by electroejaculation. Although none four media affected percentage total motility, lignocaine caused significant decrease (P >0.05) progressive motility. Exposure resulted increase swimming speed ≤0.05) star-spin tracks, which are typical hyperactivation. Using PBS data individually spermatozoa, receiver operator characteristic curves constructed distinguish kinematic employed as cut-off values did not (0.1 + 0.2% 0.04  respectively), while induced little (3.4 3.0%) had highest (25.3 13.6%). The large variation (0–54.5%) may reflect inter-individual differences quality among these males. This study indicated most promising hyperactivation-inducing medium spermatozoa should be considered similar assessments other animal species

Functions of hyperactivated motility of sperm in the oviduct*

Hyperactivacion of sperm entails increases in the flagellar wave amplitude and the asymmetry of flagellar movement. In simple media on glass slides, hyperactivated sperm are not highly progressive. Nevertheless, we have evidence that hyperactivated sperm within the oviduct possess greater ability to reach the oocyte plasmalemma than normal activated sperm. First, hyperactivated rabbit sperm, fl...

Hyperactivated sperm motility driven by CatSper2 is required for fertilization.

Elevations of sperm Ca2+ seem to be responsible for an asymmetric form of motility called hyperactivation, which is first seen near the time of fertilization. The mechanism by which intracellular Ca2+ concentrations increase remains unknown despite considerable investigation. Although several prototypical voltage-gated calcium channels are present in spermatozoa, they are not essential for moti...

Antimicrobial characteristics of some herbal Oils on Pseudomonas aeruginosa with special reference to their chemical compositions

Pseudomonas aeruginosa is an important opportunistic pathogen causing widespread infections by numerous virulence factors. Increasing resistance to antibiotics makes the Pseudomonas infections treatment further difficult. The purpose of this study was to evaluate antimicrobial characteristics of essential oils from Matricaria chamomilla, Artemisia persica, Zataria multiflora, Myrtus communis, R...

Incidence of sperm-tail tyrosine phosphorylation and hyperactivated motility in normozoospermic and asthenozoospermic human sperm samples.

Our objective was to study the incidence of sperm-tail phosphotyrosine immunoreactivity in normozoospermic and asthenozoospermic human sperm samples, its association with sperm motion parameters, particularly hyperactivated motility, and its potential involvement in the pathogenesis of asthenozoospermia. The work was conducted as a prospective experimental study in the Sperm Biology and Androlo...
